To include images in the text editors (std/full versions) you can refer to an existing image on a url / web address.
This can also be done by simple 'Copy Image' and 'Paste' into editor (using ctrl v).
- WARNING: If pointing to an image on an external server/site etc. beware that if it's taken down, changed etc. it will invalidate your link or show a changed image.
- That said is is a very good way for example when using your own controlled images like on Facebook etc. where you control if image remains available.
The alternative is to store your image on this webapps server, as follows:
ADMIN-Authorised Users can upload images to the server using one of the options available (depends on WebApp version):
1. Using the Server Admin Images Table
2. Using drop down here for adding new image.
Pre-uploaded images can be seen be selecting the dropdown and either viewing with the button or the thumbnail shown by selection.
- To edit/change an existing image (WARNING: will change ALL instances of the image) select image on Server Admin Images Table, change & save with a new image with same name/type
- Images that already exist on the server can be used in any/all standard/full text editors
- If they don't exist then upload them first. Image name/type are shown to make it easier to copy/paste link in editors.
- The filename of an uploaded image will be kept as is, call for it by name/extension when using the editors upload image tool.
- TIP when inserting images with pixel size, do not exceed 250px width otherwise on small phones image will not fit into screen width.
- BEST METHOD is to use a % size, i.e. 50% for half the text editor box or 100% for full width. This way the image is auto sized to suit.
- Images/image upload area(s) are only visable to ADMIN / Authorised users.
- Main images are updated instantly, thumbnails / look-up images etc. mostly need a cache refresh before showing new image.
Maximum file size allowed: 1000 KB. - or as indicated
Allowed file types: jpg, jpeg, gif, png
NOTE: Dedicated image areas (i.e. not inside text editors) can be directly uploaded/changed, these files will NOT retain uploaded file name (auto generated name used).
- Swapable initial design images will be preloaded into the Server Admin Images Table and can be changed from there (file names retained). Please take care on image sizes for example index menu button images / card images (where used & on same page) should ideally all be the same size/orientation to benefit from the auto layout structure. Also banner style images should be replaced with banner style etc.
